This year, the festival visitors were treated to by a parade consisting of young people and older people from the Gospel Oak area. The participants took part in a series of workshops, producing banners, lanterns, puppets, and a dance and music show. The parade was organised by RealArts and Akademi South Asian Dance. The parade started at the Thanet Youth Club and paraded through the Queen’s Crescent Market into the festival were the crowd was treated to a dance and music performance. The parade then moved to Lismore Circus where everyone was treated to a dance performance by the Akademi South Asian Dance group.
The event continued into the afternoon with celebrations of community spirit and cohesion through dance, music and cultural offerings.
QCCA would like to thank all involved in planning and facilitating the Queen’s Crescent Festival, in particularly Creative Kilburn, Akademi South Asian Dance, RealArts, Camden and the NHS.
